How bad do you want it?

How bad do you want it?

In 20 plus years of ministry.. I am not challenged much or amazed much by peoples faults or failures, I’ve heard just about everything. Having been by the bedside of many people who were about to make their transition, death doesn’t move me much either. But what I do find challenging, sad, and painful, is the large number of believers who choose to live beneath their privilege. Those who either through willful disobedience, or through ignorance of their spiritual identity, simply accept less than what God has made available to them through our Saviour Jesus Christ.
I am saddened by good people who live in mediocrity having never really experienced the fullness of God. I am troubled by the fact that these people come to church, they hear, they listen, some take notes and highlight every page of their bibles, but walk away week after week lives unchanged

The Woman with an issue of blood – Luke 8:40-48

So, here’s this woman.. who dealt with a tremendously life changing illness. Her condition reduced her quality of life to the point of being a social pariah! 12 year (144 months, 626 weeks, 4383 days) that’s a long time. What’s amazing is that she continued to aggressively seek out her deliverance. She was NOT a quitter! She wanted CHANGE!

Change begins with a choice. Change begins when we choose change. We live in a culture where we’re encouraged to “Accept” rather than to endure the difficulty of change. Our culture tells us “Just find or create a community of acceptance…Embrace who you are..Why change?” The church have become a co-dependent to this culture of Convenient Christianity. Certainly God accepts all of us no matter what our issues are but He also intends to conform us to the image of His Son. We pastors preach messages about how to enjoy the glory and provisions of God without the surrender to His Lordship. “Gimme what you got Lord.. but You keep the change!”

Get into position for change

This woman got up from where she was and pressed her way to where Jesus was. Simply stated, she put herself in a position for change. Change rarely comes to you, it doesn’t knock on your door, you must go to it! You must make a decision to SEEK out change. You must be willing to leave your comfort zone, you must want change badly enough to do things differently than what you’ve done before.
Understand this, Everything within your comfort zone has already reached it maximum potential! So, why stay there?
The word tells us in Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” NKJV God has made ALL things available to us pertaining to life and godliness. Everything you need God has already provided in Christ Jesus! That’s wonderful News!

Prepare Yourself for change

Be open to change, be open to the move of God to reposition you, seek out a fresh place, lay aside those things that are weighing you down or that are keeping you complacent. It may be time to evaluate associations that do not encourage you or hold you accountable to live your BEST life in Christ Jesus!
God is ready to heal you, He is ready to elevate your life, and He is ready to promote you in the spirit… The question is how bad do you want it?
